Are Dead People at Risk for Identity Theft?

To answer the title, YES! Many ID Thieves scan the obituaries and get the public information and open up credit cards, bank accounts, and buy things online. This is a very lucrative business. Organized crime has been involved in this type of activity for several years. The biggest problem with Identity Theft, is that it is almost impossible to catch the thieves. This is certainly less dangerous for alive people, but there is a secondary effect. We all pay for losses that these banks and credit card accrue with our fees. It would be to our advantage for these people to be caught and prosecuted. Have a great day. Stay Tuned for more information regarding Identity Theft and how you can protect yourself from it.
